Easy Fundraising Ideas
Fundraisers, no matter what size, require
lots of time, energy and planning. While there are easy ideas, fundraising isn't usually easy.
Planning for a
fundraiser needs to begin well in advance of the fundraiser,
and include things like gathering volunteers and choosing the
type of fundraiser that you will do. There are several
easy fundraiser ideas for you to choose from, and here are a
few to get you started.
Fundraisers that involve sales are some of
the easiest events to hold, and they also raise a good amount
of money to make the effort worth it. Special items can be
created and sold for your fundraiser, including promotional
items. You can also sell products that you purchase from
a vendor at wholesale prices and then sell for retail, keeping
the profits. Just keep in mind that the best products to
sell are those that reflect your group or organization the
best.
Selling candy is one of the easiest
fundraisers available to groups. A large amount of candy
is purchased from a vendor at a discount and then divided up
among your members. Each group member is responsible for
selling their portion of the candy, the group keeps the
difference made once all the candy is sold and paid for.
Candy sales are able to work so well for groups of all missions
because they are a single, well priced item that anyone can
afford to buy.
Large scale sales of used items are another
great and easy fundraiser. Everyone has stuff that they
need to get rid of, and one man’s junk is another man’s
treasure. Host a used book sale or a large rummage
sale. Everyone in the group can participate by donating
items to be sold and asking family and friends if they have
items they would like to donate as well. Make sure that
you advertise the event well, and pick a convenient location
that several people can get to at the same time. People
are always looking for a great bargain, and it gives your
members the chance to help without actually having to donate
money outright.
Car wash fundraisers are fun and a little
more labor intensive, but with plenty of help from the members
of your group they are really easy to get through in a
day. Speak with businesses in the community to secure a
free spot and source of water where you can host the car wash
and then get the word out. Create large posters and signs
to post and hold near your car wash. Make sure you have
plenty of members to get the work done once the paying
customers start arriving.
Easy fundraisers ideas abound, and some of
the most creative can sometimes be some of the easiest and
quickest ways to raise that money you need. Start with
these ideas, but feel free to think outside the box and come up
with some ideas of your own. Good luck!
