Elementary School Fundraising Ideas

Elementary Schools are always in need of funds for supplies, equipment and activities for the students, and because of this they are always holding fundraisers.

Elementary school fundraisers should include the students since they are the reason for the fundraiser and your biggest assets as far as volunteers go.  Since this will be a fundraiser that children are involved in make sure you keep the events as simple and easy to do as possible.  Here are a few easy elementary school fundraising ideas to get you started.    

A school talent show is a great way to raise money and let the students shine while entertaining their families.  Hold tryouts to include the best act in your talent show and make sure to include a wide variety of entertainment.  In order to attract the most number of guests offer pre ticket sales, the tickets you sell at the door should sell for a slightly higher cost.  This will give you the opportunity to sell more tickets because folks are going to look at the benefit of saving money if they purchase ahead of time.  

One of the easiest types of fund raisers is a candy fundraiser in which every student is given a specific amount of candy and expected to sell them.  You do not have to necessarily go with candy, but other types of sweets can be sold.  Research local vendors that do fundraisers for schools and other groups, and purchase the candy which is then sold for a profit.  This type of fundraiser works well because you have the entire school involved and there is not a lot of setup required.  

School rummage sales are a great idea if you want to get the community involved in a project where little to no money is needed to fund the event.  Hold a rummage sale collection among the families of students and have everything dropped off in a large are of the school like the gymnasium.  Volunteers among the student’s parents will be needed to help sort, tag and then work the actual rummage sale.  In addition to the rummage sale you can have a separate booth with baked goods and beverages that the students provide.
