Fundraising For Non Profit Agencies

Fundraising for a non profit agency is a huge endeavor, but necessary to raise the money needed to keep the organization going.

As prices for everything go up, so does the costs associated with running a business—for profit or not for profit. Here are a few things you always need to consider when you are planning to fundraise for a non for profit organization.

When your organization begins its fundraising planning there are several things that need to be determined and planned out. The only way your fundraising can be a success is if everyone involved is together and working as a team. Find out how big of a commitment your group can handle and then you will be able to determine what kind of fundraiser you can do. If you require a small amount of funds to handle a small project, then the fundraiser can be a small event. But, if on the other hand, you need to fund raise to earn enough money for operating costs for a year you will need to plan a much grander fundraiser.

Organize a group of volunteers to oversee your fundraiser and form a committee. The volunteers on your committee can divide up all the responsibilities and help your members hold the best fundraiser ever. With a strong committee the event and planning will not be a big burden on a single person and you will be able to reach more volunteers and donors.

Reach out to the community to determine if you will be able to get any donations or sponsorship for your fundraiser. Businesses are always willing to help non-profit organizations and in return you can offer them some free advertising. Broadcast the support you receive from local businesses to your members and other donors and encourage them to support the business in the future.

Write a fundraiser proposal to be sent out to business leaders in order to gain their support for your fundraiser and organization as a whole. A well written proposal letter has the potential to bring in donations before you hold the actual fundraiser, or earn you the support that you need from business that can be partnered with to hold the event. Whatever fundraiser you decide on for your organization, plan out the event and make sure you include the opinions of every member. As long as you have the support of your members your fundraiser can only be a success.
