Fundraising For Schools
Fundraising for schools in your community is a worthwhile and
noble cause because you are raising money that the students and
teachers need.
Most schools have just enough money per child to
meet their educational needs, and any money for extra
activities needs to be raised by means other than taxes. For
this reason fundraising for schools is super important and
something that everyone should help with and support.
When your school does present a need for
additional funds, for whatever reason, there are several things
that you can do to help them raise the money you need. If
it is a specific club or group that needs to hold a fundraiser,
there are several small fundraisers that you can hold to help
them earn that money.
With an all school fundraiser you have the
entire school body and all the parents and teachers to help
with the fundraising, so there is the potential to raise a very
large sum of money. Schools regularly fundraise for new
P.E equipment, updated computers and books and craft supplies
that the students need but wear out over the years.
Whatever group items or classroom supplies your school needs to
fundraise for, make sure you mention the specific item to your
students and those you are seeking donations from. Naming
specific items lets donors feel like they are more involved in
the fundraising and they will be compelled to be more generous
with what they can
give.
Group activities can be planned to fundraise for the school,
anything from talent shows to candy sales to book fairs are
appropriate ways to raise money for the school in your
community. Events for the family and school members are
also great ideas to raise a large amount of funds and get the
school involved hands on. Fundraisers that involve
product sales are easy for the entire school to get involved in
because everything but the selling is done for you.
Usually companies that handle candy sales provide all the
materials and supplies necessary to carry out the fundraiser
event.
Once you decide on the type of fundraiser
you want to hold, it is time to get down to business.
Contact local media and let them know about your fundraiser;
send out press releases to every local paper so that the word
is out on your event as much as possible. But, don’t
forget to inform the students and their families first, because
they are your greatest billboards to the
community.
